Active members of the Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference (PVIAC) and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).

Rather than compete in the Charter School conference, SICS has always chosen to compete against many larger schools within the MIAA and PVIAC.

SICS was the first Charter School to win an MIAA State-wide championship earning the honor in boys’ basketball in 2006.  We have also earned a second state championship in boys’ basketball, along with a number of Regional Championships in both boys’, girls’ basketball and cheerleading.

Currently the department employs approximately 48 coaches at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels.  Over the years our coaches have been recognized as regional “Coach of the Year” on a number of occasions.

Our student athletes have also received much recognition as we have had “player of the Year’ awardees, members of All-State teams and each season  SICS is well represented on All-League teams.  A significant number of our student athletes have gone to play intercollegiate athletics at all levels of competitiveness.

Our athletic facilities include two regulation sized basketball courts (the main gym seating 600 spectators), two soccer fields, a baseball and a softball field, on campus space for our volleyball teams, and various other multi-purpose facilities.

We hope to continue our expansion of athletic offerings as interest and numbers dictate.
